Top 3 Online Marketing Trends which You Should Ignore in 2017
Like every January, online marketers make predictions about what we should expect from the new year, what will work and, of course, stuff that won’t be effective anymore. As for us, today we’re focusing on the latter. So, without much further ado, these are the online marketing trends that could completely disappear in 2017!
1. Popups
You hate them, we hate them and Google also hates them very much. Actually, the search engine giant announced back in August that any website which keeps using pop up ads will suffer a penalty, while those without these annoying little things could enjoy a ranking boost. If you’re creating your online marketing strategy now, you might as well forget about them! We know, they work very good, but users don’t like visiting sites who basically throw an ad directly to their face.
2. Big banners
Ah, the good ol’ days, when almost each website had at least one huge banner ad, basically distracting your from everything. Fortunately, the trend is already fading away and, hopefully, by the end of 2017, it will be history. Apparently, webmasters are now focusing on native advertising, which can significantly increase leads.
3. Fake reviews
What’s one of the first things you do when you want to buy something online? You check the reviews, of course! However, sellers were also aware of this, so they started buying or showing fake reviews for their products, everything culminating with huge retailers, like Amazon, filing lawsuits against companies who did this. Currently, these fake reviews are disappearing and we believe that this is one of the most important online marketing trends which will soon be history.
Of, these are just a few of the changes we’re going to see in the upcoming months, but if you know some more online marketing trends that should be gone, do let us know about them, by dropping a few lines in the comments section below!
